JITRI has established joint innovation centers with leading enterprises in each industry sector, aiming to collect verified technology demands from local industries. Leveraging its various R&D and innovation resources, including specialized research institutes and overseas strategic partners, JITRI helps the joint innovation centers address technical demands and facilitate joint R&D projects.

By 2021, JITRI and leading enterprises in Jiangsu province have jointly built 130+ joint innovation centers. The centers carry out strategic research, develop technical roadmaps, collect technical problems for which enterprises are willing to find solutions, and connect with JITRI’s global innovation resources to find those solutions. The joint innovation centers have collected technological needs that enterprises are interested in funding.

JITRI also cooperates with local industrial parks to establish industrial innovation centers. In 2019, JITRI and Kunshan Economic Development Zone (Suzhou, Jiangsu Province) jointly established an industrial innovation center, which is responsible for collecting the technical needs of SMEs and subsequently match-making through JITRI's innovation network. JITRI also cooperates with the development zone to set up funds for research, funding up to 30% of the total budget.
